Today, I'm starting out a new feature I'll hopefully keep up with every Wednesday - What I'm Loving. The direction I am going to go with this is just pick a theme for each post, something I'm loving this week obviously and create a collection of pictures of items. Pretty self explanatory!
I'm starting out with nail polish - I was shopping around Target yesterday and kept seeing all these wonderful colors that I would love to pick up and wear this summer.
And as you'll probably notice my favorite brand is Essie.

Quick & healthy
Not the best photo but tonight I made Couscous for the first time! I paired it with baked chicken and garlic green beans. It was super quick, super easy and super tasty.
I'm not the best at explaining myself either when it comes to recipes, especially since I didn't use one; just threw this together. I'm not one to ever actually write things down, I just wing it but I'll try my best to write the ingredients and what I did.
Ingredients
Chicken cutlets
Couscous
Green Beans
Fresh garlic
Pepper
Salt
Oil
I poured some oil in a frying pan, salt, pepper and threw the chicken cutlets in. Fried them for just a few minutes to get a little bit of hardness to the skin. Took them out, put them in a square pan and popped them in the oven till they reached 165 degrees. Next I put some green beans in a pot with garlic, salt and pepper covered them and let them cook (I usually add butter to the green beans when they are cooking but I ran out of butter earlier today, didn't feel like going to the store). I then cooked the couscous with nothing but a little garlic, salt and pepper as well. Finally, I plate everything and ate it up!

LUSH Haul
Today my best friend and I took a trip to our LUSH Store and picked up a few things. I cannot express my love for their products and I am wearing a face mask I purchased today as I type this. Every time I visit I try and pick up products I haven't tried before and some new ones of my old favorites of course.
To start with - I am wearing one of the two Fresh Face Masks I picked up today; Catastrophe Cosmetic with calming blueberries and soothing calamine. I just washed this off after it sat for about ten minutes, moisturized and my skin feels absolutely wonderfully smooth.
The second mask I picked up to try is Brazened Honey for a deep clean; it is the most powerful of their masks'.
The next item I picked up was a Tea Tree Toner Tab. I haven't tried one of these toner tabs yet but you drop them in a bowl of water, let me fizz away and do their wonderful thing for your face. And they only cost $1.95 each.
Having occasional trouble skin I purchased Grease Lightening to use as a spot treatment on my skin.
As for a moisturizer, I picked out a sample of Cosmetic Lad to try from a blind test one of the sales associates gave to me. I couldn't choose which moisturizer to get. This ended up feeling the best to me along with Gorgeous but I chose this one considering the $90 Gorgeous price tag. I can't allow myself like a product with a price like that.
Finally, I picked up another bar of my go to cleanser, Coalface!

Simple dinner idea
I am in no way, shape or form a chef but after a nice evening spent in Barnes & Nobel, specifically the cooking section, I was motivated to go home and whip up a quick meal with what I already have handy. I raided my fridge, as well as my cabinets and came up with the idea of an asparagus pasta dish with a sauce.
Quick run down of what you need and how it was made:
What:
Asparagus
Pasta (any will work, I used angel hair)
Salt
Pepper
Fresh Garlic
Basil
Fresh Shredded Parmesan
Vegetable Oil
1/2 cup of the water the asparagus was cooked in
I didn't do any real measuring besides the amount of asparagus water I used, just wing it to your taste!
How:
Chop and boil asparagus
Boil pasta
Mix 1/2 cup asparagus water and a small amount of your cooked asparagus along with the other ingredients listed above in the blender. Blend about a minute. My sauce ended up a wonderful light green color.
Finally, mix it all up in big bowl, serve and enjoy!

Sweet Tooth
My sweet tooth is definitely the largest tooth I have in my mouth. I thought I'd share some things I've fed to my sweet tooth over the last week or two cause I just enjoy looking at (as well as eating) food probably a little too much!
Fried oreos at my favorite diner
Chocolate covered strawberries and cake pops
Doughnuts
Confetti cake
Super easy/quick frozen pink lemonade pops
Homemade pretzels
Cotton candy ice cream
Frappe
& okay, I actually didn't eat or even buy these (knew I could live without them) but they did seem pretty neat. I should have included cotton candy in my '11 things' post; I love anything and everything cotton candy related.
Go enjoy some sweets!

11 things
I've seen a few of my favorite bloggers make a post called "11 things" and thought I'd give it a go myself.
There are five rules:
1. Post these rules
2. Post a photo of yourself and 11 random things
3. Answer the questions set for you in the original post
4. Create 11 new questions and tag people to answer them
5. Go to their blog/twitter and tell them you've tagged them
11 random things:
1. I am utterly completely addicted to lip balm. You name a kind, brand, etc and I swear to you I have it. I never leave my apartment without it, always have one in my pocket, they can be found every where in my apartment and I can't even count how many times a day I apply it.
2. My favorite place in the whole wide world is New York City. I just get such an amazing feeling about life when I am there and I find it to be such a beautiful place. My entire family is from New York and I cannot wait to live there again someday.
3. I am currently in school to become an elementary school teacher. I student taught in a kindergarten class for two years and it was such an enjoyable experience and I had the best teacher as my mentor. I currently work in childcare as well.
4. When I hear a song I like, I will download it and play that song until I can't stand it anymore. When I had a last.fm account I'm sure people were often confused as to why I listened to the same song over and over, back to back. My friends are always surprised when they look at my iTunes because of the play count some of my songs have.
5. My boyfriend and I currently share an apartment and I've never been happier.
6. I have an addiction to taking photos with my iPhone. I take pictures of anything and everything, anywhere. I'm sure I'll be thankful to myself for documenting too much when I am older, even if the majority of the photos are only taken with my phone.
7. My favorite foods are pizza, broccoli and asparagus.
8. I love love love painting my nails. I find it a stress reliever as well.
9. My boyfriend and I get obsessed with watching certain tv shows. Especially Tabitha Takes Over, Parking Wars, Lock Up, Impractical Jokers, and so on.
10. Sometimes I wish I could fast forward my life. I know these are supposed to be the ~best years of a my life but I am tired of college and partying like the majority of my age group. I want to be finished with school and to have a career, home, family, etc. But I am sure when I have all that, I'll want what I have now back. I grass is always green on the other side.
11. I have the biggest sweet tooth.
I chose to answer questions from Kaelah
1. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?
I do. I just think that a lot of times it connects with what is going on in my life. My mom has always had astrology books around the house and I find myself checking my horoscope daily.
2. If you could teleport to any time and place, where would you go and why?
I would teleport to NYC, for the reasons stated in my 11 things further up. But maybe not present day, hmmm, I suppose the 1930s.
3. What are the three closest items to you right now?
My iPhone, headphones and my boyfriend attempting to vacuum the couch while I am sitting on it.
4. If you had a spirit animal, what would it be?
A dog. They lazy around and eat all day. The love their families with all their heart, etc.
5. What is your earliest childhood memory?
Whenever I am asked this question, I never really know quite what to say. I can't pinpoint a certain memory as my earliest. I can only remember random memories here and there.
6. Where do you hope to see yourself in 5 years?
Happy, simple as that. Hopefully I am teaching, we have our wonderful apartment and a puppy to keep us company.
7. Have you kept in touch with your childhood best friend(s)?
Somewhat. Especially thanks to the power of Facebook!
8. If you had to describe yourself in 5 words, what would they be?
Creative, Silly, Loving, Crazy, Unexpected
9. Describe your idea of a perfect day: Where would you go, what would you do, who would you do it with?
Yesterday pretty much was a perfect day: I stayed over my best friends house, got back to my apartment in the morning, my boyfriend had made a cute confetti cake for me to come home to, we talked and ate our cake. We then changed our clothes and ventured out to a local park. We walked through the animal exhibits, I took tons of pictures, pet/feed the animals. We enjoyed a late lunch/dinner at my favorite diner and returned home. We cuddled up watched some tv, I took a little nap. I woke up, we ordered dessert, cuddled up in bed and watched a movie till I fell asleep.
10. What kind of "weird" foods do you like?
I have a big love for pickles that my friends always call weird.
11. Do you collect anything? If so, what?
I collect little things like movie tickets, etc from places I go and things I do with my boyfriend and close friends.
